Greetings to you, our beloved friends, family, and colleagues! We are thrilled to share our joy with you as we anticipate the newest arrival to our family! Our journey into pregnancy has made us particularly aware that for many couples, the prospect of childbirth may not be quite as hopeful. We pause to remember the 750 women who died today due to childbirth complications--- --- --- Nearly all of these deaths could be prevented with targeted interventions at the community, clinic, and hospital level. This is precisely the type of infrastructure that Partners in Health helps to develop, and with your help, we know that some women will survive to provide nurturing care and joy to their new little ones as mothers. For those living on less than a dollar a day, no amount of support is too small -- $5 can make all the difference. The cost of a baby toy or playpen can be the equivalent of a life-saving medical intervention and outreach.
