Bring Aid to Haiti
Thank you for joining me to bring aid to the people of Haiti With the terrible tragedy that befell Haiti recently, the world has responded with an incredible amount of donations to charities. One personal cause that I have a connection with, requires help in order to provide help, and they are the Partners In Health. They have the medical people on the ground in Haiti, having established themselves to help people in need in poor countries. It is times like this when we are often reminded that there is much light to be gained by helping those around us, to which a blind eye would normally be turned. Being inspired by the young 7 year old lad who did a sponsored bike ride in London, raising over £100,000, I am going on a personal quest to try and raise at least $500 for PIH. As you’ll know me and my betting passion through my posts for online-betting.me.uk, instead of just donating another lump sum, I am taking an initial donation of £20 and will be looking to increase what I can give to PIH with my knowledge of betting. You will be able to follow my progress on http://www.online-betting.me.uk/blog and hope that the attention will draw more generous donations to this needy cause. Over the course of two weeks, starting Tuesday, January 26th, I will be making bets, and recording them all on the blog. All profits garnered (because, hey, let’s be positive here), will be donated along with the initial amount to PIH. Again, the purpose of doing things this way, is to keep up awareness of the plight faced by people in Haiti, and how much aid is needed. it is designed to gather support. It is hoped that donations will come into the PIH donation page and the desired total will be able to be reached, with the help of friends, loyal readers and visitors to http://www.online-betting.me.uk, who have given me great support for me to do this. I’ll also be firing off updates about all this on my Twitter. The scope the disaster is truly enormous, and a tremendous influx of immediate aid is needed to avert an even greater loss of life. Partners In Health has been working in Haiti for nearly 25 years. Our local team is already working to ensure PIH’s coordinated relief efforts, leveraging the skills of more than 120 doctors and nearly 500 nurses and nursing assistants who work at established sites throughout Haiti. Please help me make sure that this skilled team has the resources it needs to address the crisis at hand.
