Partners In Health is proud to announce the Students For Haiti Challenge, for college and university students. Starting this Monday (2/22), you have 7 days to unite in raising $50,000. The Entrepreneurs Foundation HelpHaiti Fund will match each donation, dollar for dollar, up until February 28th or $50,000 - whichever comes first. To declare your school's participation, email students@pih.org at any point during the Challenge! If you already have a school fundraising page, include your thermometer's current total, which will become your baseline for 1:1 matching. We will respond with details on how to create a school fundraising page (if you haven't already) as well as tips for effective campaigning. If you succeed in raising $50,000, Partners In Health will receive a grand total of $100,000 to provide immediate and long-term support in Haiti. The value of this donation would purchase an ambulance to transport critical patients to PIH health facilities AND cover delivery of life-saving medical supplies and equipment to our sites by cargo plane from Miami AND support a mobile clinic in Haiti for three weeks - serving hundreds of patients with basic primary care, triage, and referral services AND outfit 125 households with water purification systems. Already, the student movement for Haiti relief has been tremendous. More than one month after the earthquake, we must remember that the needs of over three million Haitians directly affected by the earthquake are as urgent as ever. Partners In Health is not an emergency relief group -- it is a social justice organization that has provided health care services in Haiti for over 20 years, and will remain committed for years to come. Spread the word to teachers, classmates, and administrators! $50,000 in 7 days. Can you do it in 6? Stand with PIH, Stand With Haiti.
When a Person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at our disposal to make them well… Whatever it takes. Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill. |
