Next Step's Haiti Earthquake Relief Campaign |

When a Person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at our disposal to make them well… Whatever it takes. Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill. Next Step (People with Disabilities for Social & Economic Justice) is making a long-term commitment to the reconstruction of the lives of people in Haiti. We believe that Partners In Health is in the best position to use the resources we gather to meet the immediate needs created by the disaster there. We are concerned that once those needs have been met, the ongoing needs of Haitians with disabilities will be lost among the many other legitimate claims for help. When that time comes, we will ask Partners In Health for guidance and support in keeping that from happening. Right now, lives must be saved, bodies mended and bellies filled.
