Northwestern University: Standing in solidarity with Haiti
Thank you for joining together with the Northwestern University community to support Partners In Health's earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. As many of you are aware, on Tuesday, January 12th, Haiti experienced a major earthquake that has devastated the country, crippling already fragile infrastructure, killing tens of thousands, and leaving millions without access to food, water, shelter, or medical care. The scope of the disaster is truly enormous, and a tremendous influx of immediate aid is needed to avert an even greater loss of life. Partners In Health has been working in Haiti for over 20 years. PIH's Hatian physicians and nurses were among the first to respond to the earthquake and continue to coordinate major relief efforts throughout Port-au-Prince. Please join with the Northwestern University community in making sure that this skilled team has the resources it needs to address the crisis at hand.  When a Person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at our disposal to make them well… Whatever it takes. Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill. |
