Walking for Education
When a Person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at our disposal to make them well…
Whatever it takes. Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill.
--Excerpted from the PIH Mission Statement
The Seventh Annual Urban Walk for Haiti brings together communities from the Boston region to support PIH. Since the devastating 7.0 earthquake on January 12th, thousands of Haitians have evacuated to more rural parts of Haiti, putting pressure on nearly exhausted resources, like education. This is one reason why we are focusing on PIH's education program. The walk features a PIH speaker, local Haitian vendors selling crafts, clothing and delicious food as well as musicians to get our dancing feet warmed up for the walk. Bring your friends, family and funds as we enthusiastically support PIH. Check and cash donations are also welcome at the day of the walk. Please make checks out to Partners In Health and put Urban Walk for Haiti in the memo.
To learn more about the walk, visit our website at www.WalkforHaiti.org.
Donating online through the Walk's Partners in Health donation site ensures that your pledge counts toward the event on March 27, Please print the email as a receipt of your donation. Walkers with pledges totaling over $100 will be eligible for a free WFH t-shirt on the day of the walk.
