Partners In Health believes that investing in children is one of the most effective ways to combat the vicious cycle of poverty and subsequent barriers to healthcare. By participating in the Back To School campaign, you are helping children in Lesotho stay healthy so that they will have the opportunity to be students.

Invest In Young Children

In Lesotho, 117 of every 1,000 children will not live to see their fifth birthday. In Partners In Health’s catchment area of Lesotho, 45% of the 7,655 children under the age of five have stunted growth. In September 2011, PIH Lesotho launched our under five program that sets out to properly vaccinate, medicate, and provide both food and social support young children in our catchment area.

If you get 10 friends to donate $5 to PIH Lesotho's under five program, you can pay for a community health worker to identify and accompany young patients- this is a life-changing amount for children in the communities that PIH Lesotho serves.

• $55: Covers the cost of specialized infant care in the neonatal unit for one day
• $60: Buys nutritional supplements for malnourished children.
• $60: Provides outreach to children living in rural villages.
