Dartmouth Men's Soccer to Host Haiti National Team (Haiti Awareness)

Haiti National Soccer Team vs. Dartmouth Men's Soccer

Friday April 20 at Burnham Field

7pm Kickoff

For the second year in a row,  Dartmouth men's soccer team will host the Haiti national team in an international exhibition match. The Big Green will play Haiti on Friday, April 20. All proceeds will benefit Partners In Health's relief efforts in Haiti.

Admission is free, and donations will be accepted for Partners In Health.

"We are very excited to be hosting these international exhibition matches at Dartmouth this spring," said head coach Jeff Cook. "This is a wonderful opportunity to bring renewed focus on the challenges that remain in Haiti and how organizations like Partners In Health rely on continued commitment from their supporters. Dartmouth men's soccer is honored to be involved in an event that will use the power of sport to assist in these efforts."

The Haiti national team will be on a five-day benefit tour in New England. Haiti will take on the Crimson on April 22 at 5 p.m: http://act.pih.org/page/event/detail/haitiawareness/w9l

Events at both Dartmouth and Harvard will raise money to support Partners In Health and its relief efforts in Haiti, which is still recovering from an earthquake that took place on January 12, 2010.

Last season, Dartmouth played the Haitian national team on Burnham Field in front of a capacity crowd of over 2,200. The Big Green and Haitian team battled for 90 minutes before the Haitian squad came away victorious, 2-1, on a late penalty kick. Dartmouth teamed with Dartmouth to cover all expenses and travel costs for the Haitian team during its trip to the United States.
