Model of the Event:
This event will be similar to a scavenger hunt, but modeled after Partners In Health's community health workers (CHWs). For Partners In Health, CHWs travel several miles by foot to help patients with things like taking medication, getting transit to the clinic, ensuring access to food and clean water, monitoring chronic conditions, and performing public health surveillance to ensure the health of the entire community.
Participants in our event will be asked to visit three "patients" (PIH volunteers) who will help you learn more about community health workers and the actions they take. The course will take you across (indoors, climate controlled) a 1/2 mile health walk trail on our campus. You will receive a map and we will have volunteers to help you find the stations you need.
After the event, there will be a short presentation by PIH | Engage Leadership as well as a raffle with prizes to be announced!
