Requesting a speaker from
Partners In Health

Thank you for your interest in having a PIH representative speak at your event!

Please fill out the following speaker request form with as many details about your event and what you are looking for in a speaker, and we will work to identify the right speaker. Please note that each request is dealt with on an individual basis.

Please be mindful that these factors affect our ability to secure a speaker:

  1. Timing of request. We encourage you to submit a speaker request form no later than three months prior to your event. The more time between submitting your request and the date of your event, the more likely we are to find a speaker.
  2. Email response. The speaker request coordinator will send you a response to your request within one week of submitting your request to verify that it has been received and to give you an update on the status of your request. If you are requesting Dr. Farmer or Ms. Dahl, please expect up to two to three weeks before receiving this response.
  3. Details. Providing detailed information about the subject on which you’d like the speaker to address, as well as background about the event, will help ease the process of finding the right speaker. For example, if you would like the speaker to participate on a panel, please provide the names of the other panelists invited or confirmed their position titles and organization affiliations.
  4. Honorariums and expenses. PIH speakers, including Dr. Farmer and Ms. Dahl, do not have a set honorarium fee. This is generally left to the discretion of the event organizers and dependent on the budget of the event. We encourage you to cover expenses involved in bringing a speaker to your event; this could include travel, lodging, food and local transportation so that PIH can continue to put the majority of our resources to programs that serve the poor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email speaker@pih.org.
